Cancel policy during freelook period
You can cancel a policy during the freelook period of 14 days from the date that the policy document is issued. For example, if the policy was issued on 1 December, the freelook period ends on 14 December.
The freelook period of 14 days cannot be extended. As such, we advise you to review your policy before the freelook period expires.
You need to complete the Freelook / Not taken up form and submit it together with the original policy document via one of the following ways:
- Via your Financial Representative (preferred mode of submission)
- Email it to wecare-sg@greateasternlife.com
- Walk in at our Customer Service Counter
- Mail it to:
Attention: Customer Service Department
The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited
1 Pickering Street
Great Eastern Centre #01-01
Singapore 048659
Following your submission, your Financial Representative will get in touch with you regarding your cancellation request.
Cancelling your policy under freelook means that the whole policy is cancelled and there will be no insurance coverage. Any medical costs incurred (e.g. medical examination, etc.) will be borne by you.
For investment-linked policies, we will make the necessary market adjustments and losses will be borne by you.
Your payment for the cancelled policy will be refunded to you after 5 working days. The payment will be refunded via PayNow unless you had indicated an alternative mode of refund in the Freelook / Not taken up form.
You will also receive a confirmation of the cancellation of the policy after 5 working days.
