Transfer of ElderShield Administration to the Government

As announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on 14 October 2021, the Government will be taking over the administration of the ElderShield scheme from the private insurers from 1 November 2021.

To facilitate the Government’s takeover of ElderShield, we have taken these steps:

  • stopped accepting new applications; and
  • ceased processing of claims and requests for changes to existing policies. The claims and requests will be forwarded to the Government for processing after 1 November 2021.

From 1 November 2021, we are unable to process your request. For requests or inquiries on ElderShield, you may submit them via Write to Us (careshieldlife.gov.sg/writetous) or call the Healthcare Hotline at 1800-222-3399 / +65 6222 3399 (overseas) from Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 5.30 pm. For more information, please visit careshieldlife.gov.sg.

If you have an ElderShield Supplement plan with us or with another insurer, the ElderShield Supplement plan will not be affected. You will continue to be served by us or your existing ElderShield Supplement insurer.
