Terms and Conditions for Financial Representatives

1. Financial Representatives of the Great Eastern Companies (as defined below) are eligible to receive a one-time incentive for promoting The Great You campaign (the “Campaign”) to their clients based on the terms and conditions set out below (the “Promotion”). Read together with the terms and conditions of the Campaign.

2. The Promotion is open only to:

(a) Financial Representatives in Singapore of the Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited (“Great Eastern”) and Great Eastern General Insurance Limited in Singapore (“GEG”);

(b) Agents of Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Berhad (“GELM”) and Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad (“GEGM”);

(c) Financial Advisors of Great Eastern Life Indonesia (“GELI”); and

(d) Agents of Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia (“GEGI")

(collectively, "Participants" and each a "Participant").

Great Eastern, GEG, GELM, GEGM, GELI and GEGI each a “Great Eastern Company” and collectively known as “Great Eastern Companies”.

Where these clauses apply to entities outside of Singapore, the expression “Financial Representatives” in these terms and conditions shall refer to the relevant Great Eastern Company’s Agents, Financial Advisor, or Broker.

3. Each Financial Representative will receive a voucher worth SGD$50 or its equivalent in other currencies (“Incentive”) if at least one of their referred clients successfully submits an entry that wins the Grand Prize, Merit Prize and Qualifying Prize.

4. Only one Incentive will be awarded per Financial Representative, regardless of the number of successful client entries.

5. The Financial Representatives of the Grand Prize winners have the option to be featured on Great Eastern Company’s Facebook and Instagram page according to the relevant Great Eastern Company’s sole and absolute discretion:

(a) 1 post featuring Grand Prize winner and his/her Financial Representative

(b) 1 post featuring the Financial Representative’s achievements

6. Eligible Financial Representatives will be informed via their registered corporate email by 30 September 2024, where the relevant Great Eastern Company will provide details on disbursement of the Incentive (“Incentive Notification”).

7. If a Singapore client participates in the Campaign by self-submission and through referral by a Financial Representative, the Financial Representatives must ensure that their clients use the Financial Representative’s unique personalised URL provided to them during the entry submission in order for the Financial Representative to qualify for the Incentive.

8. If a client participates in the Campaign due to a Financial Representative’s nomination: To qualify for the Incentive, the Financial Representative must ensure they use their corporate email address for Singapore and agent code for Malaysia and Indonesia during the registration process.

9. Financial Representatives hereby assign to the Relevant Great Eastern Company based on the below categories, all rights, title and interest in all intellectual property rights created during the registration and documentation process and to fully disclaim and waive all intellectual property rights and moral rights in favour of the following:

(a) Financial Representatives from GELS and GEG – Assignment of rights, title and interest to Great Eastern

(b) Financial Representatives from GELM and GEGM – Assignment of rights, title and interest to GELM

(c) Financial Representatives from GELI and GEGI – Assignment of rights, title and interest to GELI

If necessary, Financial Representatives shall execute all further documents and deeds necessary to effect, perfect, record or register such assignment at the Financial Representatives’s own cost.

10. The relevant Great Eastern Company as described at paragraph 9 is the sole owner of any and all intellectual property arising from submission of an Entry (as defined in the Campaign terms and conditions) and creation of The Great You Content and it may use and license others to use the Entry content and The Great You Content in which Financial Representatives appear, in any and all media by any manner or means whether or not now known or invented, used or contemplated, throughout the world, for an unlimited number of times in perpetuity without any further payment made to Financial Representatives.

11. All Financial Representatives also agree and undertake:

(a) that where ownership of intellectual property rights is not transferable, that they grant the relevant Great Eastern Company on a royalty-free basis, the perpetual and irrevocable right to exclusively and without limitation freely use, modify, copy, reproduce, distribute, broadcast, translate, create derivative works from, alter and publicly display or publish any such intellectual property rights, for whatever purpose including marketing communications and publicity purposes, in any form or medium, either on the Great Eastern Companies’ social media platforms or elsewhere, whether locally or worldwide;

(b) that the Great Eastern Companies may at their sole discretion, edit, modify, add, delete or change The Great You Content (as defined in the Campaign terms and conditions) in any way and further acknowledge that the Great Eastern Companies have no obligation to use The Great You Content in any manner, in which case, the Financial Representatives shall have no further claims whatsoever against the Great Eastern Companies.

General

12. The decision of the Great Eastern Companies on all matters relating to the Promotion shall be final and binding on all Participants. 

13. The Great Eastern Companies may vary these terms and conditions or suspend or terminate the Promotion without any notice or liability to any party.

14. The Great Eastern Companies may replace, withdraw or add Incentives at any time without notice or liability. 

15. The Great Eastern Companies shall not be liable for any incomplete, lost, late, damaged, illegible or misdirected submissions for any reason whatsoever or problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers or technical problems, or any combination thereof.

16. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any advertising, publicity, brochure, marketing or other materials relating to or in connection with this Promotion, these terms and conditions shall prevail.

17. By participating in this Promotion, the Financial Representatives agree to release and hold the Great Eastern Companies harmless from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to any person or property arising from or in connection with, either directly or indirectly: (a) the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use or misuse of the Incentive or parts thereof awarded pursuant to the Promotion; (b) and participation in the Promotion.

18. Notwithstanding anything herein, the Great Eastern Companies have the absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of any person to participate in the Promotion. 

19. If a Great Eastern Company subsequently determines that a person is in fact not eligible, for any reason whatsoever, the Great Eastern Company may at its discretion, disqualify the applicant and clawback/cancel any or all of the Incentives without prior notice. 

20. By participating in the Promotion, each Financial Representative agrees and consents to Great Eastern Companies and their related corporations (collectively, the “Companies”), as well as their respective representatives, agents, authorised service providers and relevant third parties (the Companies and all the other foregoing parties, collectively, “Great Eastern Persons”), collecting, using and/or disclosing each Financial Representative’s personal data, for purposes reasonably required by the Companies to administer the Promotion and such other purposes as described in each Great Eastern Company’s Privacy Statement which is accessible from the following  websites, which each applicant confirms he/she has read and understood.

21. The Campaign and these terms and conditions shall be subject to, governed by and interpreted in accordance with the local laws of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The relevant law will apply based on the Great Eastern Company t each Financial Representative represents. The courts of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these terms and conditions, including the validity and enforceability thereof.

22. All correspondence and documents relating to this Campaign shall be in English for Singapore and Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia for Indonesia.
