Insurers and Takaful Operators-Repairers Code of Conduct
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) issued the Insurers and Takaful Operators-Repairers Code of Conduct (the Code) in December 2024 with the objective of enhancing public trust and confidence in the motor claims and repairs industries. The Code sets out minimum standards on fair, timely and professional conduct that must be met by insurers carrying on motor insurance and takaful business and Repairers, to promote more effective collaboration between the relevant industry players, to ensure fairer outcomes for consumers. Additionally, the Code imposes a requirement on each insurer to establish and administer a dedicated Internal Dispute Resolution (“IDR”) process to facilitate fair, transparent and timely resolution of disputes relating to motor vehicle repairs and claims process between insurers and the Repairers.
Mandatory Participation for all Panel Repairers. All our panel repairers must participate and comply with the Code as part of their Service Level Agreements with us. Non-Panel Repairers are encouraged to participate in the Code voluntarily.
