Enabling local brands to achieve global reach is Great

After graduating high school, Gilang ventured abroad with only his musical skills, unable to attend college due to limited funds. Despite being teased for his English, he remained endlessly curious and eager to learn, embracing every opportunity to grow.

His path wasn't without hardships; there were days he had to borrow fried rice just to eat and nights spent without a bed.

In 2016, Gilang moved to Bali, where he initially played music in cafes. It was there he met his wife, Yu Hsin, and things began to change. Together, they launched an online store to sell handicrafts, which ultimately led to the creation of UrShipper.

They quickly realised the major challenge in Bali was international shipping. Existing courier companies offered competitive rates only to high-volume shippers, forcing small businesses like theirs to rely on slow and inefficient postal services.

This inspired them to start UrShipper, partnering with international shipping companies to unlock the best rates for local businesses.

Today, UrShipper stands as one of Bali’s leading international delivery services, empowering local businesses to reach global markets and showcasing the beauty of Balinese arts. Gilang takes great pride in his journey and is grateful to his younger self for never giving up.

“What began as an idea to sell local crafts has grown into a lifeline for our small, local businesses."
